ilooda participated in the exhibition of IMCAS Annual Meeting 2014 which was taking place from 31st of Jan ~ 1st of Feb.

2014. During the 3 days, many our European partners and key opinion leaders was showing their great interest

in our new combined technology with CO2 fractional laser and fractional micro-needle RF.

Furthermore, Ilooda’s KOL, Dr. Naouri lectured his clinical study about Micro-needle radiofrequency and scars (Ilooda Secret™)

at IMCAS Annual Meeting 2014 on 2nd of Feb, 2014.

Abstract

Non insulated microneedle fractional radiofrequency (NIMFRF) permits fractional dermal heating with sparing of the epidermis.

The main advantages of this technique over laser devices include deeper penetration depth, more even tissue heating and greater safety in darker skin types.

Prospective study assessing NIMFRF (Ilooda Secret™ device) treatment tolerance, efficacy and satisfaction on 20 patients treated for photaging and scars.

The patients paid for their treatments. This study was combined with a histological and immunohistochemical analysis of biopsies carried out 15 days

and 6 months after treatment comparing CO2 fractional laser with radiofrequency.

The procedure was very well tolerated and post-treatment effects included erythema, edema and/or scabs, which usually lasted less than 3 days on average.

No complication was reported. Mean efficacy was rated 6.25/10 by the physicians and at 5.8/10 by the patients; the patients’ mean satisfaction score was 7/10.

Results were globally similar regardless of treatment indication or skin phototype. Immunostaining at 15 days showed an increase in inflammatory cells

and fibroblasts over the whole dermal thickness for NIMFRF compared to a more superficial dermal localization for the CO2 fractional laser.

Histologic analysis at 6 months showed dermal collagen and elastic fiber recovery after NIMFRF wheras persistence of fibrosis was seen after CO2 fractional laser treatment.

The author introduces the first European study on NIMFRF. This study indicates a very high satisfaction rate for patients treated in real-life clinical setting.

Patient satisfaction is high because the procedure is effective, well tolerated and has minimal recovery time.

The immunohistochemistry and histologic analysis indicates more intense and deeper tissue stimulation with NIMFRF compared to CO2 fractional laser,

and highlights the potential complementarity of the 2 techniques.
